About WestCoastYankees

I currently reside in Las Vegas, Nevada~The gambling capitol of the world with my beautiful wife Karri, and our soon to be arriving son sometime in mid-October. I received both my Bachelors and Masters degrees in History from the University of Nevada, Las Veggas. I am a research historian and enjoy doing work in the fields of modern baseball issues, baseball history, American History, juvenile crime and punishment, and immigration policy and law. Along with writng for this blog, I write the occasional article for Las Vegas.Net Magazine, primarily covering local sporting events and genre sporting topics of interest. At this point in time, I am currently working on an article arguing that the World Baseball Classic should no longer include Major League Baseball players due to the frequency of injury due to participation in the tournament. The essay is being reviewed for publication by the Society of American Baseball Research. Two novels are in the works, the first covering the evolution of the closer in Major League Baseball, the second covering the complete history of professional baseball in the Seattle, Washington area since the end of the 19th Century. I can be reached at william.brost@yahoo.com, westcoastyankees@yahoo.com, or on Facebook, user name Guillermo Brost.
